Fresh Bouquets

Red, Puple and White Bouquet

What makes our bouquets distinctive? We pay close attention to form, color, and texture.  We grow special flowers to be our centers-dahlias, delphiniums, sunflowers, lilies, the more amazing zinnias of the day.  These create the wow effect! Accompanying the focal flowers are distinctive, textural fillers. They give the bouquets their form and background color and texture, e.g. hydrangeas, which have a frilly texture, and gomphrena, statices, feverfew, phlox.

Form and Color

White Lilac

We generally use two or three colors in a bouquet . . . red-yellow-orange, or pink-white-green, or orange-purple-yellow, or purple-white-blue. The use of a few key colors strengthens the character of each bouquet.

Lavender Bouquet

When people come to market to buy fresh flowers, they look at all of our baskets and are drawn to a particular bouquet because it evokes a certain feeling tone-a sense of delicacy, joy, whimsy, energy, peacefulness. It's sometimes hard to make a decision about what you want!

We also offer many 'staight bunches' of flowers-  a handful of gorgeous, long-lasting Sunflowers, Rudbeckias or Zinnias-  Truly beautiful and simple to the eye.

Pink and Yellow Bouquet

The bouquets evoke a personal response from each buyer as they envision a special touch for a table-setting, or a stately feeling for a lobby, or a softer feeling for a sitting room. This combination of form, texture, and color in the bouquets contributes to a sense of drama that they are creating.

Special Preparation

Linda Cutting Flowers

We specially prepare our bouquets to last a long time. When the flowers are cut, they are immediately placed into a hydrating solution and moved to a cool barn. If it is extremely hot and field heat needs to be removed, the flowers are first placed in a cooler. Then they enjoy a cool drink of floral preservative solution. Our customers receive floral preservative along with the bouquets they have selected to assure a long vase life. It's very important to us that you enjoy your fresh flowers as long as possible, so we bend over backwards insuring their freshness and longevity.
